Description
- Creedence Clearwater Revival released their second studio album "Born On The Bayou" in January 1969. It firmly established the San Francisco Bay Area band with fans nationally and contains the seminal hit single "Proud Mary."
- This copy of (Fantasy 8387) is from the first pressing in 1969. It is on heavy vinyl and has the original blue and silver deep groove disc labels and has F-2715 and F-2716 etched in the dead wax. Fantasy also used those numbers on the disc labels to indicate which was Side One or Two. The album sleeve is in good shape although it does have ring and edge wear and writing on it as can be seen in the pictures. I rate it VG+. The disc plays cleanly and I rate it VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Allen Zentz at RCA and was pressed at the RCA Records plant in Hollywood. The Side 1 dead wax is stamped F-2715 H.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 51 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
