MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Fantasy Records very first STEREO press released by Fantasy Records, made and distributed in 1975 in Chile by Discos Banglad (Banglad Records), licensed from Fantasy Records, USA, catalog number LPFPM-75 in the first record and LPFPM-76 in the second record, with hand etched matrix numbers FPM-75-A EB-CD in Side A, FPM-75-B EB-C in Side B, FPM-76-A in Side C and FPM-76-B in Side D. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of the first record is written the exact day of pressing, “17-2-76” (February 17th of 1976) in side A and “8-8-75” (August 8th of 1975) in Side B, and it’s more than interesting that dates informed have about 6 months of difference!!! As far as I know this record was released in 1975 in Chile, so we have 2 options, this is a copy released in 1975 or 1976, but if the dates informed are right we should consider that Banglad Records pressed one side in August 1975 and the other side in February 1976 and that’s something hard to believe, I guess one of the dates is wrong. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“LIVE IN EUROPE” was originally released in 1973 and it seems we had to wait a long time to see this album because it was released here in Chile in 1975 and like so many times of the period we got it with an UNIQUE NON-LAMINATED GATEFOLD COVER, made of 2 single pieces of thin cardboard with inner cover pasted on the flips of outside cover and folded in the middle. Front, back and inside covers keep strictly the original artwork, with some little differences, in front cover here in Chile Banglad Records added a white circle with the text “RECITAL EN VIVO” (“Live Concert”, the album title used here in Chile), in back cover the tracklist and information about this live recording (well, yes, I know it’s very controversial because it’s more than known this “live recording” or part of it it’s not really “live”) was deleted, you can only see the picture of the crowd with no text at all, and in inner cover the tracklist is written in Spanish, translated to English, with Banglad Records logo, catalog number and credits at bottom right corner. In labels the album title is written in Spanish “RECITAL EN VIVO, VOL. 1”, with the tracklist also written in Spanish only with credits for J. C. Fogerty for all tracks. And that’s an interesting fact to notice, because “Susie Q” was written by Dale Hawkins (Stan Lewis and his wife Eleanor Broadwater were credited as co-writers only for the royalties). Another fact to notice it’s that in original US issue the first side of the album has 3 songs, with second song “Green River/Susie Q” but here in Chile they are listed as individual songs, so the first Chilean side has 4 songs. And a third fact to notice it’s that song “Conmoción” was misspelled in English translation in inner cover, “CONMOTION”!!! WOW!!! Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from this side of the world, another classic rock album with UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS, A MUST TO HAVE for all fans and collectors of Creedence Clearwater Revival and Psych Folk/Rock music of late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in G+ or maybe VG- condition, with very light wear in all edges, more evident in corners, with the bottom edge of front cover partially unglued, and 1 ½ inch split in the middle of spine, only in outside cover, inner cover keeps solid, with light ring marks and some creases, but with an obvious “problem”, it has severe marks of humidity and blemishes and a big tear at top edge of back cover. The records are in strong VG or VG+ condition all sides, glossy and clean, but with loads of scuffs and light hairlines, with soft scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on all sides are in superb EX- or EX- condition, absolutely clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear and a name written in sides B and C. The sound is the best part, all sides are in great EX- or EX condition, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with light crackles and some occasional light clicks here and there, more evident at the first seconds of Side A and in parts of “Keep On Chooglin’”, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the great sound quality this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall a record maybe not for audiophiles or Minty minds, but with a cover still in decent shape and both records with still a nice glossy look and great sound quality after about 46 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean press!!! WOW!!! Another classic rock album edited in Chile with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE and UNIQUE ERRORS, with date of pressing of each side in the deadwax!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
