Description

Artist: CROOKED OAK

Title: FROM LITTLE ACORNS GROW

Format: LP

Label: FOLKLAND Record Productions, UK (FL 0102)

Year: 1976

Style: folk, acid/psych folk

Info: Super rare private pressing LP of which only 500 copies were made, and this copy is in stunning condition!

This is an album of amazingly good folk with acid and progressive inclinations, probably the best folk music i have ever heard!

Comes in laminated picture sleeve and has plain white paper die-cut inner sleeve.

Features Steve Evans on Guitar, Mandoline and vocals. Paul Bagley on Whistle, Mandoline and Cittern. Barry Walker on fiddle.

Pressed on nice thick good quality vinyl.

11 tracks:-

-side 1:
HOLD THE LANTERN HIGH
JIMMY CLAY
LORD INCHYQUINN, FAIRMOYNE LASSES AND SPORTING PADDY
THE MORNING LIES HEAVY ON ME
PADDYS GREEN SHAMROCK SHORE
THE MORNING DEW AND THE OAK TREE

-side 2:
COLD HARD TOWN
THE VILLAGE FOOL
KILFONORA JIG
GREEN MOUNTAIN HOME
AIR: SONG OF THE LONESOME BOATMAN

This really is a collectors dream : a brilliant and impossible to find album which is in absolutely superb condition!

Vinyl in near mint condition and has only been played a couple of times! Looks remarkably clean and shiny and plays very smoothly and clearly.
Labels are clean with only one spindle mark on side 1, and three or four spindle marks on side 2. Some of the label lettering looks slightly faded but i think this is how it came, and has not been caused by user wear.
Sleeve in excellent++ condition with very little wear and just some minor storage discolouring. A little slight wear along the opening edge. A minor crumple in bottom left hand corner. A few small pockets of laminate lift on the front next to the main spine. Spines and corners are more or less perfect.

I grade the condition according to UK standards.

Will be posted in strong professional packaging to avoid damage in transit.

I do combined postage rates if you are thinking of buying more than one item.
