This edition is now out of print and is an all analogue pressing, mastered by Bernie Grundman from the original tapes using an all analogue and tube amplified process which delivers the finest sound quality you will find for this album.

CLASSIC HAVE GONE TO EXTRAORDINARY LENGTHS TO ENSURE THE FINEST AUDIO POSSIBLE ON THIS RELEASE - PRESSING THE SET ON FOUR ONE SIDED 12" RECORDS WHICH PLAY AT 45 rpm

 The Crosby, Stills & Nash triumvirate shot to immediate superstardom with the release of its self-titled debut LP, a sparkling set immortalising the group's amazingly close, high harmonies.
While elements of the record may not have dated too well -- Nash's Eastern-influenced musings on the hit "Marrakesh Express" and the antiwar sentiments of "Wooden Ships," though well-intentioned, are very much of-their-time - the harmonies however, are absolutely timeless, and the best material remains rock-solid.
Stills' gorgeous opener, "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," in particular, is an epic love song remarkable in its musical and emotional intricacy, Nash's "Pre-Road Downs" is buoyant folk-pop underpinned by light psychedelic textures, and Crosby's "Long Time Gone" remains a potent indictment of the assassination of Robert Kennedy. A definitive document of its era.

THE FIRST RECORD IS HOUSED IN A HEAVY GAUGE REPRODUCTION OF THE ORIGINAL GATEFOLD SLEEVE (WITH 'DISC 1' STICKER) AND THE OTHER THREE RECORDS ARE HOUSED IN THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL WHITE CARD SLEEVES WITH POLY-LINED INNERS EACH OF WHICH HAVE THEIR OWN STICKER; 'DISC 2', 'DISC 3' & 'DISC 4'
AND THE WHOLE SET IS ENCLOSED IN THE ORIGINAL PLASTIC SLEEVE WITH "QUIEX" STICKER

THE SET HAS BEEN OPENED BUT I DON'T THINK THIS COPY HAS EVER BEEN PLAYED (prior to my one careful play-grading) AND IT SOUNDS SENSATIONAL (there are some small marks on "Guinnevere" which give rise to a few little clicks - otherwise the sound s flawless)
