A rare original 1972 copy of the self-titled Cymande LP on Janus JLS 3044. Great cosmic funk/soul from West Indian band living in the UK. Side one of the disc is E-, with some minor background noise here and there, most of which is drowned by the music. Side two has a big scratch which plays through just fine, but pops lightly through the first song. It doesn't ruin the song, but it is there. I managed to EQ it so that it was not that noticeable and still could really enjoy listening, but it is there and you need to know about it. By the end of the first song it goes away and the record plays like the first side. Overall it plays really nicely and is better than most copies I have seen. This record got a lot of abuse at parties in those days, apparently. Anyhow the cover is very nice, about E with just a touch of general shelf wear. A very nice copy, even with the flaw I mentioned. Thoroughly enjoyable.
