Description
Calvin Coolidge one sided Metal acetate 12" 45 aka: Patsy Cline
Walking After Midnight
it's not really Calvin Coolidge, but the point is to get some attention for this single and to put it out under a guy's name for other country singers. This is a rarely seen single pressed up by 4 Star, who held the publishing to this song. They were hoping to double their royalties by tempting a male singer to do a version of the Patsy Cline tune. What better way than to let them hear it as a guy would sound like singing it. So here they've taken the master tape and slowed it down just enough to make it seem like it is a guy's voice - then press up the record with that version. This is the same recording as the hit song, but to get it to play correctly you'd have to spin it up at about 60 rpm. On the center of metal acetate it has 2/13/57 which is shorty after Patsy had the hit. Never sold to the public, and barely even sent to radio, this acetate is quite a musical unicorn."
The playing grooves start 3/4 of the way into the acetate and in VG+++ condition. Matrix #s 45-CC-15A
It must have stood in 4 Star studio warehouse untouched and unplayed for over 65 years.
