Camel – Debut Album Vinyl – Original 1973 MCA MAPS 6477

Camel’s debut album was released on the MCA Record Label in 1973, Catalogue Number MAPS 6477. Those who have purchased my previous Camel albums will know that I was (and still am) a huge fan of Camel, and have listened to them since the early Pete Bardens (RIP) line-up.

The Matrix Numbers are Side 1 MUPS 473 7-LNMG-275-2L and onSide 2 MUPS 7-LNMG-276-1L.

 Blue-black hexagonel MCA label (1st UK issue)

It was released between February and May of 1973. Later it turned to pure blacklabel (with same catalog number).


You will see from the pictures that this album has the early Blue-Black MCA label.

When taking pictures of the vinyl I note a scratch on side2, as per the photograph however I have not played the album in over 30 years but don’t recall there being an issue in playing, however I have no way oftelling if this is the case, so please beware there could be issues playing the long track Arubaluba.

I did spend a large part of my early life in Findlay’s record shop on the Cow Wynd in Falkirk and Bruce’s in Edinburgh collecting albums.  Hope this goes to a good home.
