Description
We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
A 1964 1st Stereo Repress of Cannonball Adderley - Somethin' Else. Repressed using the original metalwork - RVG Stereo is stamped in the Deadwax and the "P" or "Ear" symbol ( see photos). Degritter cleaned, the vinyl is spotlessly clean with an excellent lustre and only one or two faint trace hairlines. It sits flat on the turntable with clean labels and spindle holes - Graded EX.
Playtested on a Rega Naia turntable fitted with an Aphelion 2 cartridge and Rega Aura Phonostage. Some surface noise at the start of Side1 Track 1 which subsides quickly to reveal a warm & detailed soundstage with immediacy and presence, wide and open, excellent stereo separation. Side 2 plays even cleaner still with very low noise in isolated passages. No jumping or sticking.
The laminate front sleeve is sturdy with vibrant print colour retained. There is some separation to the front opening ( see photos) but no splits. Lovely legible spine. One or two creases and corner rubbing, rear printed area clear and readable with light discolouration & faint water staining near the top but overall quite well preserved.
Original BN printed inner sleeve present but worn - we have decanted the record into a new poly lined inner to preserve it - you will receive both.
The record will be sent separated out in an archival outer sleeve to prevent transit splits.
