Description
A very nice example of the good old Blue Note days, the first 1958 release of the legendary Cannonball Adderley Sometin' Else album. This is the original mono pressing, identified by the label Side 1 (BN 1595-A), Side 2 (BN 1595-B), no "INC.", no "R", has deep groove on both sides, etched BN-LP-1595-A, ear, 9M and stamped RVG in the trail off area of Side 1, etched BN-LP-1595-B, ear, 9M and stamped RVG in trail off area of Side 2. I think grading the vinyl VG+ and the sleeve VG is accurate, possibly a bit conservative. The vinyl has non audible scuffs and a few light scratches as shown on pictures #7-10, but these photos were taken under intense light with aperture priority camera setting, that means multi layer scans. Under normal lighting the record is clean and shiny. (Please note, the darker angled areas shown on photos #7-8 are shadows of the improvised light box.) I've played through both sides of the record and the listening experience is still stunning. The record sounds bright, dynamic, absolutely no loss of notes. The very beginning of starting grooves as the needle settles are noisy, but become nice and quiet after it settled. During the test play, I never noticed any noise or crackling that could effect the listening enjoyment. A few very minor pops were just barely noticeable. As shown on the photos, the labels and the two upper back corners of the sleeve are stamped with a number 254, most likely by a radio studio. Please carefully check all the photos and don't hesitate to ask for more details. No original inner sleeve, it's substituted with a standard white sleeve.
