Description

Up for grabs is an original, true, first pressing of Cannonball's 1958 classic Somethin' Else with Miles Davis.

Features all of the hallmarks of a true first pressing including the standards: P ear, RVG stamp, 9M, No R, & No INC on the address.

In addition, when referencing Fred Cohen's excellent book on the Blue Note issues, the address in the bottom part of the back cover is in Serif font.

Here is a link showing what Serif font looks like compared to Sans Serif https://about.easil.com/serif-vs-sans-serif/
The matrix number is BN-LP 1595 A/B.

The record also features the plain, white inner sleeves which were issued with Blue Note originals during 1500 and early 4000 series. An exhaustive and quite brilliant overview of this feature can be found at London Jazz Collector's site: https://londonjazzcollector.wordpress.com/record-labels-guide/labelography-2/the-blue-note-inner-sleeves/
Jacket Condition: VG+, the laminated cover is in very nice shape. It is slightly bowed, and has some very faint spotting on the back cover. Spine is nice and legible.

Record Condition: VG+, each side has some very light storage smudges and a couple of light surface marks.

Overall, the fidelity is strong and pronounced with minimal to no interference for the most part. An occasional very faint crackle can be heard, but overall this is a very strong player copy and a definite keeper.
