Description

Capitol Records Promotional Not For Sale LP Balanced For Broadcast February 1964 with 2 Beatles Tracks

You're bidding on a Promotional Only - Not For Sale LP issued by Capitol Records to U.S. Radio Stations
titled: Great New Releases From The Sound Capitol Of The World. Capitol released a series of these radio
promotional only LP's throughout the 1960's with various different titles. Each LP had "Balanced for Broadcast"
printed on the cover along with the month and year it was issued. This LP is special because it included 2 tracks:
"This Boy" and "It Won't Be Long" from Meet The Beatles. Capitol must have compiled the song selection and
written the copy a few months in advance because there's no mention of Beatlemania, the Ed Sullivan TV
appearances or I Want To Hold Your Hand anywhere on the LP cover. In fact, the Beatles don't appear till the
middle of Side 2. This album (which was only issued in Mono) also features songs by: Frank Sinatra, Nat King
Cole, Peggy Lee and other artists. The record is in VG condition with some scuffs and scratches and has some
audible pops and ticks but has No groove wear and plays fine. The 2 Beatles tracks sound great. The Cover is in
VG- condition with flaking on the spines, a 2" split on the bottom, dings in the corners, rub marks on the back
and written in magic marker twice on the front and once on the back are the call letters from WGAT-AM Gate
City, Virginia. If you're a BEATLES completest and enjoy collecting promotional records, you need this.
