Description

  For sale is Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica, the first pressing from 1969 on Frank Zappa's Straight Records. This is a gate-fold presentation with an insert with original artwork and lyrics. The insert has a bunch of creases, but otherwise clean. I bought this new and replaced the original inner sleeves with after market poly-lined protective inner sleeves. I do not have the original inner sleeves! This is the rarer version of the record with both pink Straight labels numbered STS 1053 just like the cover's number on the upper right hand side of the front cover. Later copies had the record labels with a different number (2MS 2027). On the inside cover of the gate-fold is a song listed as "Moonlight on Vermont", while the label lists it as "Moonlight in Vermont". This is a very rare record and will be a great addition to anyone's collection.   I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
