Captain Rock Rare OZ LP Buried Treasure NM ’75 Mushroom Skyhooks Daddy Cool
Captain Rock
Buried treasure
Rare OZ LP released in 1975 on Mushroom Records. Cat: L35718. Comes with original Mushroom Records printed inner bag which is in Near Mint condition.
This batch of records came from a collection bought recently from an ex Festival records employee. All are in stunning condition many of them probably only played once or twice at most.
This album is notorious for 3 reasons, actually 4...it's bloody weird!! it's an eclectic mix of folk, rock, country, polka, spoken word comedy, rockabilly, hippie drug themes. It's also likely the lowest selling LP on Mushroom, sank without a trace! Captain Rock is Bob Brown (not the ex-Greenie leader!!), it also includes backing by members of The Skyhooks, Capt Matchbox, Ross Wilson etc and includes the Original version of "Home Among The Gumtrees",Features Red Symons, Greg Macainsh, Graeme Shirley Stratchan, Ross Wilson.
Tracks: Buried treasure/ The shape/ Worms/ The grandson of Ivan the terrible/ The doobie doobie hen/ Private parts/ Dr. Funlay’s casebook/ Can’t stop rock ’N’ rollin’/ Frank/ Give me a home among the gumtrees/ There’s…Part 1/ The ballad of Boris Pillloris/ There are bad times just around the corner/ Blow the Monday blues/ There’s…Part II/ 20 flight rock/ Steamed vegetables/ Pickled onions/ Ezy street/ There’s…Pt III.
There are no signs of spindle marks on labels. Record is stunning and in Near Mint condition. Cover has very light ring wear and a few tiny marks and is in Excellent condition.
