Description

An original London press of IF I COULD for the USA market in USA. Matrix..P-W. A lovely heavy pressing as befits 1970 and exhibiting grooves on the label. The vinyl comes housed in an original paste-over rear cover - as you find on USA copies from this time. Also included is the original LONDON advertising inner sleeve - exactly correct for 1970. We will ship in a late 60's Decca poly-line inner sleeve for maximum protection. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex) In beautiful condition and has clearly only seen very light use. The surfaces retain full lustre - I couldn't make out more than a couple of ultra-light marks per side. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with just very slightest deviation in a couple of spots. To be honest - I don't really see how you could find a better playing or looking copy... I'm grading conservatively to avoid any remotest disappointment. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. An absolute beaut of a player...difficult to find fault. You might detect a few crackles in one isolated moment per side [e.g. opening start on side 1]. Other than that expect as fine a rendition as you could imagine. Due to the acoustic low-key nature only a truly clean playing copy is gonna get anywhere close to doing this title full justice. It's a collector copy - a keeper for sure.
Cover (Vg+) Anyone familiar with these early USA covers will know what a terrible pain they are to find in decent condition. But this copy seems to have been looked after pretty carefully. Lovely clean and flat front cover without creasing or much surface wear either.  The rear would usually be looking pretty tired by this point in time. But this example is relatively unaged and doesn't seem to be suffering the usual level of surface wear. There's mostly just lightest edge wear in the odd spot. But there is a two inch wear-through patch at the middle of the bottom edge seam. The spine is pretty much entirely intact - very little wear at all [as is unusual]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
Inner (Vg) Lightest ageing. A couple of edge splits. pretty tidy all in all.
