Description

Nice clean copy of Carlos Garnett’s first solo release on Muse Records, recorded in ‘74. One of the more fascinating names in the realm of spiritual jazz / post bop in that he mixes all sorts of styles en route to putting together his records with original compositions. Undoubtedly influenced by his Panamanian roots heard in Latin rhythms, no shortage whatsoever of funk and even sprinkling in vocals from the likes of Dee Dee Bridgewater and others.


Always puts together a party of an ensemble, highlighted here by names like Norman Connors (who features Garnett on his solo records as well) and Buster Williams who was absolutely on fire in ‘74 and thereafter.


Garnett is one of the hidden gems of jazz music in my opinion.
