Description
Carly Simon's first 4 studio albums are all memorable. Of course, the albums that followed are also full of wonderful songs and beautifully recorded as well; but there's something about the music on her early records that just.....linger. It starts with her 1st self-titled Lp released on the Elektra Records label ( EKS-74082 ) in March of 1971. The single released from the album, 'That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be' became a minor hit and was nominated for a Grammy. Though it didn't win, Simon did win a Grammy for best 'New Artist' in 1972. There is a warmth, originality, and innocence to many of the songs on this album that stay with you; and her soaring vocals even at this early stage in her career, are truly impressive.
The copy I am offering is a true 1st U.S. pressing from 1971 and even has the hype sticker (still affixed to the shrink wrap) for the single taken from the album. What's even rarer is that it is STILL SEALED.....nearly impossible to find like this after 45 years.
Condition: Still Sealed/Brand New.....there are two areas where the shrink has come off (see photos) some very minor wear to the corners and Lp jacket opening. A beautiful, time-capsule copy to treasure.
