Description

On offer is one of the most highly regarded interpretations of Carl Orff's legendary 'Carmina Burana'. Michael Tilson Thomas conducts the Cleveland Orchestra and achieves a level of mastery and excellence few have matched.  Originally written in 1936, this work is essentially a seamless joining of 25 poems or sections devoted to "Love, Spring, and Fortune" culminating in one of the most exhilarating and memorable conclusions in classical music.  This particular pressing captures all the details in the original recording from 1974....the balance, the space between all the instruments, the distinctive nuances in the vocal parts.....this 1981 release from CBS Records ( HM 43172 ) is rightly considered one of the finest and faithful interpretations of Carl Orff's famous composition. 
Lp Jacket, Insert, and Record are in Near Mint condition.
