Description
Really nice copy of an awesome Linn/ Aloi album by Scottish jazz singer Carol Kidd.
LP in visually outstanding condition, just some light surface lines visible under a strong inspection light. The labels are bright and clear with no evidence of spindle wear.

Aloi is a brand name used by Linn Records.
Play testing reveals that the record plays sweetly with excellent tone. There is a fairly consistent light crackle, more noticeably on Side 2 for some reason, side 1 is pretty smooth. The music is SO quiet on much of this album that any crackle at all will be heard. My head filtered it out pretty quickly during the play test. So I can't really grade this as mint or near mint, but I think it qualifies as Excellent.
Here are some samples from the record, straight into the sound card and unfiltered, no noise reduction has been applied. I've included the opening bars from both sides and some random selections of quick and louder pieces. Ths stuff after When I Dream is from side 2. You can hear the record "as is" and make up your own mind!

The sleeve is in excellent condition. The only flaws are an odd little "flare" mark top left on the back, and a tiny crease/nick in the spine - you can see both in the high res photos below.
In summary a really nice copy of this wonderful album from one the world's best jazz singers.

Records are shipped in a heavy duty record mailing mag, between two corrugated cardboard stiffeners. Shipping discounts are available, so please ask for an invoice before paying for multiple purchases. I'll invoice you the most economical shipping plan based on the Royal Mail postage rate for your COMBINED package at time of posting. Buying more than one record in a transaction is the best way to cut down on postal costs.
OTHER INFORMATION
Records are graded according to the Record Collector system. See my About Me page if unfamiliar. This record has been cleaned using professional record cleaning fluid, and vacuum dried using a Moth RCM/2 record cleaning system. This removes not only surface marks such as fingerprints, but also sucks out the dirt which gets stuck between the actual grooves of the record. The end result is that the records look as good as they are likely to for their age, and play as well as they are able. Obviously old records may have suffered groove damage over the years, and it is impossible to "repair" a damaged record. The cleaning process does help the typical record however, and significantly reduces surface noise and crackle.
