Description
Excellent copy (still in shrink-wrap) of the increasingly rare Carpenters 1969 1st LP "Offering" (A & M SP 4205). This LP was ignored when it first came out and sold very few copies. After the Carpenters found enormous success it was repackaged with a more upbeat cover and renamed "Ticket To Ride". Therefore, the original cover and LP have become a major collectible for record collectors in general and Carpenters collectors in particular.
The glossy vinyl looks and plays great. There are some sleeve scuffs and a few light superficial scratches that play with some light occasional surface noise and an occasional light click. I was pleasantly surprised that one scratch that looked like it might be a problem played through with barely any notice. The cover has no splits, tears, writing or cutouts and is as nice as any you will find and should be considered a major portion of the value. The remnants of the original price tag are on the back shrink-wrap. The labels are near mint. Included is the original A & M Ansel Adams photo inner sleeve.
