Description
~ Cancon Vinyl Auctions ~ You are bidding on this original Ultra Rare Canadian Lp by The Carpenters entitled "Offering" on A&M Records SP 4205, original CDN Pressing from 1969.
Incredibly ULTRA RARE original Carpenters "FIRST" Lp featuring an alternate Lp front cover photo slick and the alternate title "Offering".
This Lp was quickly withdrawn from production at the request of executive record producer Burt Bacharach due to the "gloomy nature" look of the front slick photo. It was subsequently replaced with a different front cover slick and retitled as "Ticket To Ride".
It is estimated that less than 1000 copies escaped and survived the production run into the commercial and non commercial market. A&M Records recalled the sale of these Lp's in the commercial retail market. A few hundred other copies that landed at radio stations were reluctantly returned as a courtesy gesture to honor the A&M recall.
It is unknown as to exactly how many copies survived - just s few hundred for certain.
Very few copies ever surface on E-Bay - especially in this pristine like condition with the original shrink wrap and the original A&M inner sleeve.
A true Holy Grail Carpenters Lp that features their very "First" Lp release.
Both front and rear covers are super clean, new looking and retain all their original full vivid bright colors (see scans).
All seams and spine edges are virtually near perfect (see scans).
Both labels are super clean ( see scan).
The vinyl virtually looks like new and retains all it's original full high gloss finish ( see scan).
A truly great item not to be missed!
