Original promo issue of their debut album with legendary bizarre, nun outfit cover photo. This was later reissued and renamed "Ticket To Ride"(The Carpenters debut album) with different album art. Crazy rare. A promo copy of this is of course, is even more crazy rare. Promo pressings are true first pressings being sent to media weeks or more ahead of being made available to the general public.
The record labels are white and read PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE. As well, there is a PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE sticker attached to the back cover as in the photo.
Condition: The vinyl is visually VG and plays as a good play copy. Play interference is pretty minimal and soft. The first 5 to 10 seconds of the first track on each side have some soft underlying surface noise (really soft). Same soft volume surface noise at the beginning s1. t.3 & t. 6 which, in these examples recurs twice briefly for a few seconds. The soft noise at the beginning of s.1 t.1 also recurs twice briefly for a few seconds. Nothing very significant in any of this.
The cover is VG+ with minimal yellowing on the back. Narrow patchy examples of slight "whitening" along the spine on the front. No seam splitting and no cut out hole.
