"Casals Festival at Perpignan" 13 LP boxed set

Columbia SL-170 / Number 884 of 2000

The first "8" is smaller than the second.

The set includes the complete set of 12 LPs issued by Columbia of recordings from this festival (July 1951), issued as ML4551 - 4562. An amazing group of legendary musicians perform: Erica Morini, Isaac Stern, Eugene Istomin, William Primrose, Marcel Tabuteau, Paul Tortelier, John Wummer, Myra Hess, Rudolf Serkin, Mieczyslaw Horszowski, Alexander Schneider, as well as Mr. Casals conducting as well as 'cellist.

But these are the very first printings, all with the rare gold label:

The jackets are all mint. No marks, no splits, not even any spine wear, perfect!

Please note that the cover slick for ML4558 was not properly placed, so one corner was pasted underneath:

LP condition: generally EX (used but not abused), a few sides grade NM. There are faint scuffs or a few light marks on most sides. The LPs generally play more quietly than even a better-than-average used mono LP - no invisible groove damage from worn needles! All LPs are clean, dust-free.

The box itself does show signs of wear. There is a vertical line/dent/impression starting just above the "E" in "EDITION", down to the bottom edge. The top right corner is partially torn, lighter wear at other corners. Part of the flap on the left has come unglued. Detail photos below:

The box cover is securely attached, and the whole box is still quite sturdy. No split corners.

The set also includes a 4 page folio of photographs by Gjon Mili. Liner notes are on the back of the jackets, there is no separate book aside from the folio.

Shipping: use the ebay calculator to determine cost for your location. LPs will be shipped outside the jackets to prevent seam damage in transit. I will also use an oversize box to prevent corner damage.
