Description
This is a rare LP from the San Francisco Psychedelic era, 1979, Doug Cashman was the producer and this is his music and he had some great friends to help him; James Vincent, Ron Sadus, and Tom Donlinger, plus a host of other musicians. There were only 500 copies of the album were pressed and 400 were destroyed. This is one of the 100 that survived, it is brand new, and still shrink wrapped from the original pressing, mastered by Dick McGrew, at A&R Record Manufacturing in Dallas, Texas. This album is considered, by many, to be a quintessential example of the psychedelic San Francisco sound. James Vincent was a Caribou Record’s artist, who player with Tom Scott and the LA Express and Tom Donlinger, who was actually Vincent’s brother, played with Michael Bloomfield, Van Morrison and Country Joe and the Fish, among others. Most of these guys came from Chicago, initially. I didn’t, I was the recording engineer for the record and the owner of Far Out Recording, in Bridgeville, CA, where much of the record was done. We also recorded at Wally Heider’s, in both SF & Hollywood and, The Church, in San Anselmo. When Doug took a tape of four of the songs down to Macon, GA, they were played by recording legend Tom Dowd who commented, “Keep doing what you’re doing.” That was high praise indeed.
