The rare original vinyl release on the Delta label DRC-1002 -- in near mint condition.  I’ve played it three times tops since I bought it in Sam Goody back in the day.  The cover is excellent – no split seams, some very minor lower right corner wear, front cover is clear/clean and there is some very light scuffing on back as shown.  Not a bootleg and not a reissue.  This is from my personal collection and I treat all my LP’s with the care they deserve/require.  Vinyl stored in clear poly inner sleeve.

Arguably considered by many to be the best symphonic progressive rock album to come out of the USA during the golden age – and near miraculously self-produced without major/minor label backing – after some three years of continuous gigging to fund recording sessions.  This Long Island, New York band was well influenced by the masters - Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, and Gentle Giant (and subsequent prog rockers like the Swedish Anglagard have taken a page from Cathedral’s book).  Despite those influences, they developed their own superb, unique and original sound with the requisite trademarks of quintessential prog rock (and also arguably with a bit of grass roots goth thrown in) -- longer thematic songs with complex layered orchestrated arrangements, odd polyrhythmic time signatures, intricate symphonic interplay (particularly between the bass and drums), fluid soaring Howe-ish guitar, fat Squire-like Ricky bass and (analog) keyboard lines – topped off with broad washes of M400 ‘tron (mellotron) to lush it all up.  A carefully crafted unsung sleeper of a masterpiece exhibiting stunning musicianship.

I never profit on shipping – the winning bidder pays US Post Office actual postage and optional insurance - period.  And rest assured, I am a stickler for professional, damage resistant packing -- whether it be coins, prints, LP’s, or whatever.  If it’s fragile – it gets coddled.  Check my feedback.  Paypal, money order, bank check and cash all ship immediately – personal checks take about a week to ten days to clear before I ship.

LP RECORD SHIPPING INFORMATION:  LP’s will be sent priority mail for USA and usually run around $5-6.  Media mail for USA will save you a couple of bucks ($4 or so) but it’s slower – and much more likely to cause both of us problems.  USA insurance runs about $1.20 for every $50 worth of value.  International postage for uninsured airmail runs about $10 per LP.  Registered international mail fee for more valuable items runs about $8 more.  I’ve never had a problem – you decide if you want to play the odds against loss/damage depending upon how much you’ve paid for the item.

All of my items are guaranteed to be as described or a full refund is offered.  Many of my item descriptions and subsequent background information are time consuming and demanding for me to write – I don’t actually NEED to do it – and you don’t actually NEED to read it - but I believe it’s important to do.  I regard every item I sell as something that will bring some type of joy to the purchaser.  Therefore, details relevant to its history are not only important for all of us to better appreciate the item, but they’re fun and informative as well.  I also will often pay a little extra money to present six supersized photos to you of the item up for bid so that you can get a much better feel for it than the usual listings you see on eBay.

I leave positive feedback immediately when I receive payment.  If you are satisfied with your purchase, please complete our transaction by doing the same for me shortly after receipt of your item.  If you’re one of those people that just buy item after item on eBay and never leave sellers feedback after your purchase – don’t bother bidding – you’re just a taker.  It’s a community on eBay – you’ve got to give back as well.

One last thing – and I can’t stress this enough.  Don’t let yourself get “sniped” if you really want this item.  In addition to some bidders manually watching the item at the very end of bid close and submitting item bids over the last few minutes, or even seconds before auction close, there are numerous software “sniping” vendors offering automated programs that bid for folks while they’re asleep or at work.  Do a Google search on “eBay sniping software” and you’ll see what I mean.  These programs WILL pull the rug out from under you in the last minute – it happens time and time again – and I receive emails about it time and time again.  Folks end up losing the item they wanted by a very small amount because they don’t have time to counter-bid.  Don’t be disappointed by letting that happen to you.  Let the system work for you -- use eBay’s proxy bidding feature by entering the highest price you’re willing to pay for the item and let eBay bid for you in increments.  If you tell eBay that the maximum amount you’ll pay for an item is $100, and the auction ends at $50 – then you’ll pay $50 and you’ll win the item.  If someone bids $99, eBay will then automatically bid your maximum $100 – but will not bid above that.  It’s a real clever function eBay offers you - but one that many ebayers don’t understand.
