Description
Celtic Frost To Mega Therion Vinyl LP 1986 Combat MX 8091 1st Press Green Label.
This is a first US pressing of Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion on Combat Records from 1986.
** Pressing Info **
After doing some research online, I found that Combat pressed two different label color variants. one pressings with the camo style label graphic, and one pressing with solid green. This copy has the solid green label.
The “camo label” pressings came with a paper sleeve with lyrics, and the “green label” pressings came with a Noise International paper sleeve mentioning a “..package tour in April ‘86”. - as shown in my photos.
I found a blog post where someone mentioned the green labels were pressed before the camo labels.
I feel it would make sense they would do a teaser or announcement of the early 1986 tour on initial presses, then follow further pressings with the lyric sleeve with the traditional Combat camo label. Not 100% sure, but just wanted to share all of this for any collectors who wanted some extra info and backstory, and/or to do some more research yourself.
The vinyl itself is in great condition. Only a couple hairline scratches, and some paper scuff marks only really visible with the ring light.
Listened to the entire album. No jumps, skips, hangs, or warps. Plays perfectly and sounds great.
The record comes in the original single sided “Noise International” paper sleeve. It has some wrinkles, and has some discoloration from years of storage. All 3 edges of the paper sleeve have 1 to 2 inch splits in the seams where record touches. Also includes 2 original merchandise order forms. One is single sided, the other double sided.
The outer cover is missing the original shrink wrap. There is some wear and bump damage to the edges and corners. The white “spotting” seen on the cover jacket is where the graphic laminate came off. I have seen other listings of this release, and images with this same defect. You can zoom in on the photos to get a better look, or send me a message and I will be happy to take any more close up photos for you if needed.
This album has been record crate stored since the mid 1980s.

I use a ring light to highlight any noticeable scuffs or scratches in my vinyl auctions. Also helps to better highlight the runout etchings, which will indicate the exact version of the release.
I listen to all the albums prior to auction and will reference any jumps, skips, warps, repeats, etc. Or anything that will effect play in my listing. I will also always indicate in my description any deep scratching that would invoke a loud pop in the audio during playback.
I also don’t use any disc cleaning or disc washing system. So any residual dust or smudges have not been removed.
With that being said, I want to be as clear and honest to the exact condition of each listing, and depict any imperfections as well as I can with the ring light.
