Description
I will be listing some rare jazz and blues records from single collection over the next few weeks. Look out for my other listings of vintage Blue Note, Riverside, Contemporary, Pacific Jazz, Prestige, Savoy, Verve, Impulse, etc.
Charles Mingus Blues and Roots (Atlantic SD 1305) Early 60’s stereo deep-groove pressing.Here on this legendary date, Mingus assembles an incredible 9-piece all-star ensemble, with heavyweights such as Jackie McLean, Pepper Adam, Booker Ervin and John Handy on on various saxophones, Mal Waldron and Horace Parlan on piano, Jimmy Knepper on trombone, and Danny Richmond on percussion. The playing here is at times wild, and always surprising with multiple interweaving lines from soloists, and rapid changes of pace from rhythm leader Mingus on bass. Electricity and excitement from beginning to end, and my personal favorite from the great Charles Mingus.
Record grade: Strong VG Nice clean copy, plays well above grade for most of record but downgraded for a few light scratches, with some tics here and there.
Cover notes: Beautiful, glossy, laminated heavy board album jacket, straight and clean, with tight seams all around with little to no edge wear.

Shipping:All records will be shipped in a sturdy, reinforced cardboard box mailer, with record and cover protected in plastic sleeve. Standard shipping will be via USPS media mail, at cost of $4.00. Priority mail also available, at cost of $10.00.Save on combined shipping when additional records are purchased. For additional records, $1.00 will be added to initial shipping cost.
