Description
This is the long out of print and hard to find four record set "Charles Mingus The Complete 1959 CBS Sessions" on Mosaic Records. It is a review copy, and therefore not numbered. I would grade the records as mint, but what is mint? They show no real signs of wear, and appear to have never been played. The booklet is mint. The box is in overall good condition. There is a slight nick on the front cover by Charles Mingus's right hand, and the old style Mosaic box hinge connecting the top and bottom has let go. The separation is so clean, no tears or cuts, that sometimes the hinge will slightly hold. It seems that the glue simply wore out. I have included a picture of the hinge. I mention these minor flaws for the benefit of the anal retentive collectors out there. They do not affect the warm analog sound that can only be found on vinyl.
