Description

Charlie Earnst-A Question Of Faith (Waltersdorff 1974).  Extremely rare original copy of this fantastic private press christian hippie folk rock platter from York, Pennsylvania.  According to the liner notes Earnst was a local rock n' roll bass player who "played today's rock sounds preaching empty messages of dope, free love, and meaningless life" before he put down the bong and picked up a bible.  Fortunately he also picked up an acoustic guitar and recorded this excellent record about finding his new faith.  The title track is eight minutes of moody meditation on the struggle with his spiritual quest that features drums, bass, and acoustic guitar weaving an epic folk rock anthem in a killer early 70's rural long-hair style.  The same instruments and vibes fill Come To Jesus with six minutes of warm, beautiful hippie rock ballad sounds.  The remaining three tracks drop the drums and ramp up the intimate folk confession intensity with acoustic guitar and bass.  A winning record with strong original songs, excellent playing, compelling vocals, and a pastoral early 70's rural hippie folk sound.

Songs: A Question Of Faith, Come To Jesus, What Is, There's A Reason, Ode To Those Left Behind.

Vinyl:  Side 1 is EX, while side 2 is strong VG++ (the platter's got a warp that tracks fine).

Cover: EX (still in shrink).

Shipping/Payment:  Currently I only accept payment via paypal.  Payment is due within three days of auction's close.  Shipping for U.S. priority and Canadian air mail is seven dollars while international air mail is fourteen dollars.  Winners of multiple items please add one dollar for each additional record.  I'm not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages.  Your feedback gets my feedback.  Thanks.
