Description

Charlie Parker 10" LP 201 on Dial Records 1949

Check the pictures closely as I am not an expert on grading.  Hopefully the pictures will do justice to the album and cover.  The vinyl is in good shape with some small scratches and some blemishes from the original pressing.  The previous owner played this on a Weathers turntable which is an extremely good tracking table with a lightweight arm.  I have played the album and it plays extremely well with 2 to 3 pops per side.  There are no scratches that cause an audible effect. Honestly, with little equalization (just what is on a Marantz 7 preamp) I was able to play the album nearly noise free.  The track Ornithology just jumps out and grabs you.  I've listened to a lot of Charlie Parker, but you just can't beat this early vinyl.   The dustjacket has some browning and some wear spots and a small tear along the seam (not to the end).  I believe this is an early pressing, but I am not a pro.  The back of the sleeve has the catalog of Dial albums from 201 to 206.  I am also listing LP 202 in similar shape.  Please check my other auctions.

The song listing below is from http://www.jazzdisco.org/dial/lp-cat/a/#lp-201 .
