Description
This is Dial 901 Charlie Parker - The Bird Plays The Blues. This is the original yellow label, deep groove 12" issue from 1949, the 1st Dial Lp, predating all the 10" issues with yellow and red labels. This is one of , if not the 1st 12" Lp issued for commercial use. Most of you reading this know how rare this piece is. It was issued without a cover and sold initially through mail order, and then distributed sparingly. The record looks and plays in VG+ condition. There are small areas with some background crackle, but the music is clear, no distortion and no skips. This is a strong copy of an extremely rare collector's piece. I have entered a modest reserve. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be offering in the next few months.
