Description
The label has a yellow inner circle surrounded by an orange ring. Deep groove, original issue. Consists of 13 previously unreleased masters. Subtitled: "Collector's Limited Edition". Charlie Parker, alto sax on all tracks. Includes 2 takes of "Bird of Paradise", 1 take of "Embraceable You", 1 take of "Dexterity" from 1947. Personnel also includes Miles Davis, trumpet; Duke Jordan, piano; Tommy Potter, bass; Max Roach, drums. From another date in 1947 with the same personnel includes 1 take of "Scrapple From The Apple"; 2 takes of (Out of) "Nowhere", 1 take of "Klactoveedsedstene". Very rare edition.
Cover: Mint(-) Intact and clean. Minor aging on the back cover. Fine condition.
Record: VG+ to VG++ Visually shows no wear. Fine appearance. A very small number of very light surface rub marks on both sides. On Side A there are 4 or 5 faint clicks on Track 1 and a hint of extremely light groove noise for 3 or4 revolutions. 2 more audible clicks on the last revolution of Track 6. On Side B, there is some static-like surface noise on Track 1 through the entire track. Less noise on Track 2 with a click near the end of the track. Slight groove noise on 2 or 3 revolutions on Track 4 with several light clicks. 2 clicks on Track 6. A few tracks on Side B have an isolated revolution of faint groove noise. Some of the noise described an be attributed to the DIAL pressing as there are no significant markings on the record. Fine overall quality for this very rare record. Moderately heavy vinyl pressing. Audibly checked.
