Description

Up for auction is the VERY RARE Charlie Parker for Collectors Only!!! Alternate Masters Vol. 1, on the Dial label # 904.

Let me first say that I've never listed an LP in this condition before. I've graded it Good+ but IF you use the Goldmine grading system it may be slightly better than that. In near mint condition this LP lists for $600 but is probably worth MUCH more than that.

I bought a collection of about 100 jazz LPs of which at least 20 are either VERY RARE or semi-rare but the condition these LPs are in is something that I would normally pass on. I've included a photo of Charlie Parker's Alternate masters Vol. 1 just to show what the covers looked like when I got this collection. I will also list that LP if this one gets bid on.

I listed Alternate Masters Vol. 2 several days ago and this LP is in basically in the same condition as described below except that the seam split on the bottom is complete so it will not hold the record. I've included both a poly inner and outer sleeve so it will stay together.

I'm probably crazy for listing these but as it says in the Goldmine grading your records section, "Good does not mean Bad!"

CONDITION: This LP cover was taped on 4 sides with masking tape which I carefully removed using a heat gun. The cover is seam split top and bottom and also in sections of the back. The photos will reveal the front and back clearly so check them.

The LP will PLAY without any skips but there is constant surface noise. The music still comes through clear without groove damage distortion. The LP is scuffed completely but there are no deep scratches that will cause obvious pops but there is constant surface noise that is almost like listening to an old 78 RPM. On the last cut and the last note on Side B into the trail-off there's a weird abrupt end?

I play grade my LPs and will not misrepresent the condition they are in. The only reason this is even for sale is because of it's rarity and musical content. I've recorded it to cassette using my Nak Dragon and for me it's still fun to listen to.

I doubt that you'll find this LP on e-bay or anywhere for that matter. This is for the serious Charlie Parker fan and the opening bid will be very reasonable for what it is.

THANKS FOR LOOKING & GOOD LUCK!

P.S. I have other Charlie Parker (10") and Jazz records from this collection that list for $600 and $500 in Mint condition which I will list IF the winning bidder of this LP or the other one is happy with his/hers auction. I will wait for feedback before I do because I don't want to waste anybody's time. Again, these records are RARE otherwise I wouldn't list them.

Any questions please e-mail me.
