Description

This is part of a big auction of blues and R&B 7" records. There are many King and Chess records here with several "bonus" listings and a handful of rarities. Keep an eye out for a large Specialty Records auction in a couple of weeks then an oddball auction of mainly 60's rock 'n roll, many with picture sleeves.

Release: Eddie Boyd and Chess Men - Third Degree / Back Beat

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1953


Notes: Blue & silver label first pressing. Early single by Boyd, who released a strong of records on Chess. On this one, the A-side is a raw, striking blues and the B-side is an instrumental that sounds straight of a barrelhouse.  Great stuff.

Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape with hardly any wear at all, just a couple of tiny surface scuffs. Looks very clean and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all.  Labels are nice with original gloss, with no tearing/stickers. This is a top notch copy overall.
