Very hard to find radio station program LP presented as a tribute to Chet Atkins with interviews and music that trace his incredible career as a performer and producer.
Notable on the LP is a discussion by the host, Lon Helton, with Chet about the influence of Elvis Presley on rock and roll and country music in the 1950s. Included also are three early RCA Elvis tracks presented in their entirety: “Heartbreak Hotel“, “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You” and “Don’t Be Cruel“.
This show “Country Closeup” was aired in 1984 and also included music by Chet as well as other RCA performers that Chet produced including Steve Wariner, Jerry Reed, Dolly Parson and Don Gibson.
Included is the original radio station cue-sheet and a separate sheet with a biography of Chet Atkins.
The glossy LP has a few light surface marks and plays with some very light occasional surface noise. The two inserts are near mint. All of this comes in a plain white cover.
