CONDITION DETAILS 4-LP Box Set, 18 page booklet, 40-panel poster, two smaller posters and voting registration chart included. Vinyls play with occasional crackles (play-graded). Box Cover has creasing, light-scuffing, discoloration with darker spots (front/back); some surface abrasions on back. Inner-sleeves are cardboard logo with tracks on back, deveolping splits near center of each spine. Spine shows wear. Noticeable shelf-wear along the corners and other edges. Top/bottom-left corners are split. (Not a cut-out.)
ABOUT THE RECORD Chicago At Carnegie Hall (Volumes I, II, III And IV), by Chicago, is a sprawling live album capturing the band's performances during their historic week-long run at Carnegie Hall in April 1971, where they became the first rock 'n' roll group to sell out the prestigious venue for an entire week with eight shows added due to demand. This ambitious four-LP set stands out as a document of the band's early jazz-rock fusion era, featuring extended versions of tracks from their first three studio albums along with unique elements like tune-ups and a cross-section of their material including the epic Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon suite. Fan-favorites and popular songs prominently include 25 or 6 to 4, Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?, Beginnings, Questions 67 and 68, and Make Me Smile, showcasing their signature horn section and energetic live delivery. The release earned the band a Billboard 1972 Trendsetter Award in recognition of their Carnegie Hall achievement and the live recordings. The album itself was a hit, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
