Choir Of The Red Army Of The U.S.S.R - Song Of The Plains/The White Whirlwind - 78 RPM Columbia – C 68

First released in the late 1930s, this Columbia 78 RPM captures the powerful and world-renowned sound of the Alexandrov Ensemble. The A-side, "Song Of The Plains" (also known as "Polyushko-Pole"), is one of the most famous Soviet songs of the era, showcasing the choir's incredible dynamic range, from hushed baritones to thunderous, soaring crescendos that became a global symbol of the Russian choral tradition.

The B-side, "The White Whirlwind," is a spirited and rhythmic folk-inspired performance that highlights the precision and vocal discipline of the ensemble. This record is a significant historical document of international cultural exchange, recorded with the high-fidelity clarity that the Columbia label brought to its ethnic and international "C" series catalog during the pre-war period.
