Fantastic rare Northern Soul Motown album by legend soul artist Chris Clark. "Soul Sounds" was a fine compilation of her work at the Hitsville factory and includes such tracks as Love's Gone Bad (TMG 591), Put Yourself In My Place (B-Side of TMG591), I Want To Go Back There Again (TMG 638), From Head To Toe (TMG 624), and even soulfull cover of Got To Get You Into My Life!
Condition: There are a couple of problems: The lovely Garrod & Lofthouse flipback cover which looks excellent from the front has been written all over with Biro pen on the rear spoiling what would have otherwise been an excellent cover. The other thing is that track 6 on side 2 of the vinyl ("Sweeter As The Days Go By") has a circular scratch which makes the needle jump at aproximately two thirds of the way through the track. There are scratches and wear on the vinyl but despite this the sound quality is rich and full sounding. No excessive distortion, nice clear vocals and that great Berry Gordy Hitsville sound. There are some low level pops, clicks and crackles audible. Due to this I have to sell it "as-is", no returns. Any questions please ask before bidding. (Thanks.)
I'm listening to "Loves Gone Bad" as I write this and it's just makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck!!!! Northern Soul at its best. Keep the faith.
