Description
This isn't a record you're going to see agin any time soon. It's a true mega rarity. From one of my favorite years, 1971 ( It was one of my years to HOWL !) , comes this l.p. by The Cirkus featuring Ronnie & Carole titled Live. It is an Ultra Rare soul funk private press album in MONO. We're not sure where, but this l.p. may be from Connecticut, Southern Connecticut possibly. There are 6 cuts in all with one being the mandatory Motown medley. This medley is bad to the bone !!! It has parts of 7 different jams. Come On Up, Stop In The Name Of Love, Ain't Too Proud To Beg, The Way You Do The Things You Do, I'm Gonna Make You Love Me, Get Ready & Somewhere. That's classic soul that will give a person chills. Then we have a classic cut made especially for Tina Turner & bestowed upon her by the once brilliant Phil Spector. It's River Deep, Mountain High. Then we have Spill The Wine made famous by Eric Burdon & War, United We Stand made famous by Brotherhood Of Man, I Want To Take You Higher made famous by none other than the main man himself, Sly Stone. Last cut is some kind of group introduction thing. This record has one thick cover too !
Group members include Ronnie Ross, Carole Waller, Paul Pittatsis, Cliff Bosamello, Gary Butt. Autographed on the rear cover by both Ronnie Ross and Carole Waller. Carole gives a possible clue to the location, as she says,"I'll Miss The Castle". The night they cut this live album, they were in top form ! This would have been THE band to see, as they were high energy soul funk ! With lots of heavy keyboards, drums, guitar-they have a nice, raw, gutsy sound ! And I love it when I come across the note that happens to be printed on the rear cover of this l.p. I've seen it on a few l.p.'s. It says, "This album should be played at high volume."
Front cover is better than VG+(+) rear cover is VG++ and record has spindle marks. Visually it is VG+, but after playing it I say VG++ !! Marks on this record are light surface marks and are not heard during play !
( I ship on Saturdays. If you pay me after 1:30 p.m. on a Saturday, your l.p. will not be shipped until the next Saturday.)
Leave me feedback and I will return the courtesy. Delivery confirmation is a must and is worked into the cost of shipping. I accept Paypal only. Gold, precious stones and your first born can be negotiated. If paying by Paypal, payment is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements are made. Insurance will be provided upon request and is to be paid for by the customer. My overseas customers are very important to me and have given me a lot of support. However, I cannot be responsible for uninsured packages. I do pack well and in a professional manner with standard record mailers. I also place a cardboard support inside the mailer for protection and to help prevent any bending. Records are removed from their covers and both are placed in a protective, clear plastic outer sleeve. It's a tried and true method that has never been improved upon. I do offer refunds if the item you won is not as described. I ship every Saturday.
