Description
Clarence Williams' Blue Five were a series of recording sessions that featured some of the best Jazz musicians and Blues singers of the early 1920s. Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Coleman Hawkins and Bubber Miley all were featured as soloists, and Blues singers such as Sippie Wallace, Margaret Johnson, Virginia Liston and Williams' wife, Eva Taylor all contributed vocals. Louis Armstrong was playing in New York with Fletcher Henderson at the time these recordings were made.
This record includes two songs from a Broadway review called "Dixie to Broadway", recorded for O-Keh records on December 17, 1924 in New York City. They are:
I’m a Little Blackbird Looking for a Little Bluebird
Mandy Make Up Your Mind
Both include vocals by Eva Taylor, Williams' wife.
This record is in superb condition for its age - no scratches, chips, dings, cracks or damage of any kind. I don't have a record player so I can't play it, but see pix to see how pristine it is. I'd rate it NM-, though I am not a professional grader. Record also includes its original O-Keh paper sleeve!
A great addition to any 78 collection!
