A Personal Presentation Copy from Clark Terry

Offered here is an extraordinary original 1975 Pablo Records promotional LP personally inscribed by jazz legend Clark Terry to acclaimed jazz trombonist, big band leader, and Mimo Records founder Sonny Costanzo (“Mimo”) and his wife, Judy.

The front cover bears the heartfelt inscription:

“To Mimo and Judy

Two Beautiful People

Best Always!! Enjoy!!!

From Your Friend, Clark Terry”

The inscription is accompanied by Clark Terry’s distinctive hand-drawn trumpet, making this far more than simply a signed album—it is a genuine personal gift exchanged between two respected figures in the jazz community.

The “Mimo” Story

According to Judy Costanzo, Clark Terry affectionately gave Sonny the nickname “Mimo.” Sonny embraced the nickname throughout his life and later named his independent jazz record label Mimo Records after it.

This personal presentation copy captures that special friendship and represents an important piece of Sonny Costanzo’s musical legacy.

Original Promotional Pressing

The jacket retains its original embossed “Not For Sale / Promotion Only” marking in the upper-right corner, identifying it as an authentic promotional copy issued by Pablo Records rather than a standard retail release.

⸻

Family Provenance
