Here are Classic Records from a “Scratch and Dent” sale.  They are all Out of Print (OOP) and are NOT mint.  Presume that the scratches shown are from the better examples.  DO NOT buy if you want a mint, near mint, VG+, or even VG LP and cover.  Do buy if you want great sounding LPs except for a problem or three and don’t need a mint cover.

 All records have been cleaned on a VPI 17 with VPI fluid and then rinsed with distilled water.  The warped LPs have been run through a Furutech clone LP flattener.  They have been placed in new poly inner sleeves and will be shipped with the LP outside of the cover via USPS media mail with tracking.  They are sold AS IS.  There are no returns.

 Email for the exact condition of the LP that you will buy.  I will play grade it using the scale below and let you know its condition.  

The seven play grade out as follows (refer to the letter):

sold A - hardly any background noise even given the scratches on side 1, track 1, and side 2 tracks 2 & 4.  VG+ rating.  Nice cover.

sold B - a few ticks on side 1 at the end of track 2, two scuffs on side 1 that don't sound, side 2 is wow!  Make an offer on the LP in a plain cover.

D - scratches on side 1 with the worst at 2:30, one dropout on track 4, smaller scratches on side 2 (at 11 o'clock) with a dropout on track 4.  VG rating.  Nice cover.

E - scratches at 9, 10, 11 and 2:30 on side 1, ticks on tracks 3 and 4 of side 1, some noise and a dropout on side 2.  VG rating.  One bent corner on the cover.

sold F - scratches at 9 o'clock on side 1, sounds pretty good, side 2 is good with a slight dropout at the very end, VG+ rating.  Two dinged corners.

G - 10 ticks in track 2 of side 1, side 2 has a ding at 11 o'clock with 2 dropouts, VG rated.  Nice cover.

sold H - Side 1:  a few pops in track 1, VG, Side 2: One bad pop at the end of track 1, VG+, VG cover with three bent corners

Q - Side 1:  lots of soft ticks, VG, Side 2:  lots of soft ticks, VG,  plain cover.

Let me know which one you want.  I'll mark them sold as they sell.

Two more without covers have been obtained.  Their grades will come.

The grades are as follows (modified Goldmine standards [mine are more rigorous]):

NM - almost nothing plays this level - even sealed records!

M- - a few ticks or pops per side.  Quiet background and vinyl.  This rarely happens.

VG+ - More than a few ticks or pops per side.  Quiet background and vinyl.  The noise only rarely makes itself known and, for the most part, doesn't interfere with the music.  This is about as good as it gets for pre-1965 US vinyl.

VG -The background is no longer quiet.  However, for the most part, the music overpowers the noise.

VG- - The noise is sometimes intrusive.

G+ - The noise is often intrusive, but the music is usually enjoyable.

G - Only sometimes is the music enjoyable.

F (Fair) - Noisy.

P (poor) - Your stylus is at risk!!!

Ratings were made using a Basis Debut Gold II (non-vacuum) with a Living Voice Mystic carbon fiber mat and a Sota reflex clamp, a Graham 2.2, and a Lyra Parnassus cartridge through an Audio Advancements (German, Brocksieper, dual mono tube) preamp and a Symphonic Line amp driving Avalon Radians.  Though I try to be accurate and consistent, your perception may differ.  Before each side was played the stylus was Zero dusted and Stylast treated, the record was brushed clean and Zerostated.
