These are the earliest 180g pressings as indicated by the date stamps from RTI pressed on the legendary Kaiser Vinyl. Michael Hobson, founder of Classic
Records, having been told by Harry Weisfeld from VPI that single sided pressings sound better that two sided pressings, decided to put the claim to the test and asked RTI to do single sided and double sided test pressings for comparison purposes. LSC 1806 was the first Classic Records release and as such Hobson did the single-sided vs two-sided pressing comparison and was shocked at the difference between the two with the single sided pressing being clearly superior in all ways including bass clarity and definition and high frequency extension and low level information like hall reverb and ambience. As the legend goes, Hobson took the single sided and double sided 1806 pressings to Harry Pearson’s listening room in Sea Cliff Long Island on March 8th 1994 - literally hot off the press! While listening to the double sided pressing Pearson was visibly shaken as was Hobson who had never heard sound so glorious and realistic - even directly off the master tapes at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Just for fun, Hobson told Pearson about the Weisfeld claim about single sided pressings sounding better than double sided pressings to which Pearson said that he had heard the same but never experienced it himself. Hobson reached into his bag and pulled out the A and B single sided discs (this record is the actual copy Hobson brought along that fateful day!) and after the first few seconds of the Sunrise on single sided A disc, Pearson leapt out of his chair and said “What have you done Hobson, this is a revelation”. According to Hobson’s account, while listening, Pearson purportedly, leaned over numerous times and said “Did you hear that? I think it is Reiner breathing while conducting!” to which Hobson reportedly agreed that it could be nothing else but. After listening to the entire two sides Pearson asked Hobson what date the recording was made to which Hobson replied that they could look it up in Jonathon Valin’s RCA Bible, a copy of which Pearson had at hand. Pearson gasped when he discovered that the recording was made 40 years prior to the date and probably he reckoned, at the very time he and Hobson were listening to the sides! It is fair to say that this was a magical moment in time that may have included HP and Hobson channeling Reiner 40 years after the recording that fateful day in March 1994. Needless to say, Hobson left the single and double sided pressings with Harry as a token of their new and thereafter long time friendship. These are the actual pressings played that day and is of the most important and greatest of all Classic Records collectibles!

(most records are not play-graded, but if so indicated above, have been graded by a sampling of the beginning of both sides of the record)
Still Sealed/New: Never opened...still in original shrinkwrap and brand new....any tears in the shrinkwrap will be noted in description.
NM : Played once or twice, no flaws, but a remote ever-so-slight amount of that shiny luster may be gone. Jacket will be virtually flawless, slightest signs of wear, maybe one bumped corner, or a hint of edge wear. Shrinkwrap, if still on, may have some stickers on it or minor tearing.
VG++: (eBay equivalent: EX) Record may have some marks (very, very light scratching or some light sleeve scuffing) that may sound briefly in a quieter passage. The jacket may have the very lightest signs of ring wear, some light corner or edge wear, maybe an old price sticker or two, that should peel off with the proper guidance.
VG+: Record will have some light marks (light scratches and light sleeve scuffs), and it might make an occasional pop or crackle in parts, but will not even come close to overwhelming the listening experience. Still a very desirable grade.. As for the jacket, it will start to show more signs of wear than a VG++ jacket, the ring wear may be slightly more evident, the edge wear or corner wear may be more defined as well.
VG: Record may have several scratches and scuffs, though aside from some popping and crackling, will still be an enjoyable listen. No skips here. The jacket will have far more wear than the previous grades, such as: edge wear to the point of some seam splitting(the kind that can be repaired with tape or other means), ring wear(not terrible, but still distracting from the image), edge and corner wear, minor writing or a few stickers, or other similar defects.
VG- : Not terrible, usually represents 1 or 2 "ugly" marks or scratches, might be a little sketchy in a few spots, other than that would fair as a VG record. The jacket will show significant wear - ring wear, seam splits(still should be able to be taped up for repair), some writing and/or stickers, edge and corner wear, or other similar defects.
Good/Fair/Poor: Filler only, not recommended for listening.
