Description
Cliff Richard & The Shadows - Summer Holiday/ Dancing Shoes
(Columbia 45-DB 4977 UK 7" Single 1963)
This is a UK original Demo 7" single pressing. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white "Columbia" Demo labels which have a large red "A" on the A-side. The labels have a 4 pronged centre, & there is a company "ZT" tax code embossed around the spindle hole on the A-side label. The record has 1st press -1N/ -1N matrix stampers. It comes with its original company "Columbia" paper sleeve.
Obviously, UK Demo singles were not available to buy in the record shops at the time. They were sent out as promotional items to reviewers, record shop owners, Dee-Jays etc... Therefore, they are quite rare. I have some other UK original Cliff Richard Demo 7" singles for sale too. So please see my other items.
Vinyl: There is a mild 5.5 cm surface mark that goes around the groove slightly at the start of the A-side. It is a bit thicker than a hairline mark. There are about four or five light, very mild or very minor hairline surface marks, or surface rub marks. These measure from 0.5 cm to 3 cm in length. Some of these can barely be seen under a strong light.
Otherwise, there are some light, mild, very mild or more moderate surface sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Good++ condition. Very close to being in Very Good condition. The labels are in Very Good++ condition & show mild to more moderate spindle wear only. The company paper sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this 7" single. It plays Very Good++ to Near Excellent overall. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a few quieter places. There are no clicks or pops. Overall, a very decent audio copy.
All gradings adhere to UK "Record Collector" specifications. Please be aware that I am an experienced record dealer of 25+ years. Therefore, all gradings will be completely accurate. So please bid with confidence.
