ONE OF THE MOST RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER JAZZ RECORDS IN THE WORLD. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL MONO PRESSING FROM 1955 of "Study In Brown" by Clifford Brown and Max Roach on Emarcy Records.

YMG-36037 A-MF-A1 and MG 36037 B, MF2 ETCHED IN THE DEAD WAX. Original Emarcy small drummer logo on blue label with silver print. Deep Groove . This is the genuine article. 100% AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL EMARCY PRESSING.

THIS RECORD IS FROM OUR PERSONAL COLLECTION. Well maintained. Very Rare.

*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) condition or better.

Record Grade VG+ = Very well maintained. We just listened to both sides of the whole album and it plays smoothly. There is a sticker on the label from "Musikhaus Hummel", the record store in Germany where we originally purchased the record back in the 1950's while stationed there in the Air Force. A few small surface scratches that do not affect the sound. Hardly any surface noise. Difficult to find this rare vintage record in such condition. (see pictures) 

Jacket Grade VG = Shiny, clean, well maintained. There is tape on bottom and top of jacket to protect a seem splits. There are two stamps on the album "Darmstadt, Germany". Sticker on the cover from "Musikhaus Hummel", the record store in Germany where we originally purchased the record. (see pictures)

"Study in Brown" (Emarcy Records, 1955) is a Clifford Brown and Max Roach album. The album consists predominantly of originals by members of the band. The songs "Lands End", by tenor saxophonist Harold Land, and "Sandu", by Brown, have gone on to become jazz standards. Brown's solo on "Cherokee" is among the most acclaimed solos in jazz.
