First off, this record has a great cover. It’s a picture of, I assume, East San Jose in the 1970s with a McDonald’s, a Sizzler, Bazar Food Mart, a Taco Bell and some great 1960s and 1970s cars driving in front, that just brings back memories. The music itself is pretty good as well. Half of the songs are slow and mellow songs that mostly tend towards blues and jazz. The other songs, however, are really upbeat soul-jazz numbers with some funk. The title track is a perfect example with a jazz instrumental arrangement, but with funky guitar playing and a big horn section blaring away.
