Description
Ok, if you are reading this, then chances are I do not need to tell you about this. However, if you want to know some particulars, please check out the discogs entry found here. This amazing little 7" helped propel Clutch into our lives. Where would we be without Clutch? I'll tell you . . . lost. We'd be lost without them.
Condition I am an ardent collector of vinyl released by bands that I dig. This particular copy was prized from one of the Inner Journey Records co-founders private stock. 100% never played. The vinyl is flawless. A paper tradelist and bi-fold jacket accompany the vinyl. The bi-fold glossy jacket is not mint, however. The glossy jacket is not perfect flat, like, say, a page in a magazine. It has the appearance of a magazine that has been read a couple times. Not bad for an item approaching its 25th birthday. Additionally, I strongly believe that the appearance of the jacket is a function of the paper thin material from which it is made.
Clarification of St. Ides Colorway Most people would refer to this as 'Clear Gold,' which is fine. However, I had a chance to bug Tim on a few occasions - he's likely the most vinyl oriented dude in the band (I know JP isn't). I asked Tim about the so-called 'St. Ides' edition. He informed me that the St. Ides edition is the same thing as the Clear Gold edition. They are all the same item, whether you call it 'St. Ides,' or, 'Clear Gold,' or, 'Translucent Yellow.' Call it what you wish - but don't call it anything shy of awesome.
Care Upon receipt, I immediately placed the items in museum-quality archival materials. The vinyl was removed from the dust sleeve and placed in Library of Congress approved frosted HDPE inner sleeve. The thin glossy bi-fold jacket rests upon a custom-cut MicroChamber board (lignin-free, acid-free, zeolite clay traps). The vinyl is placed on the other side of the MC board, as shown in the 3rd photo. All media reside in a 6 mil custom-cut inert polyester jacket. Photo 1 depicts the front of the polyester jacket, Photo 2 shows the individual elements (save MC board) stored within the polyester jacket, and Photo 3 depicts the back of the custom-cut polyester jacket. Last, the item is stored in a MicroChamber record box, which is stored out of light.
Please contact me for any reason. More photos, or info on the archival products upon request. Many thanks for reading!
