Description

Beethoven Fifth Symphony, and "Leonore" Overture No. 3, both conducted by Andre Cluytens with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. UK HMV ASD 267, 1958, 1st pressing with White & Gold labels. Stamper nos. 13/10. Gold 'EMI Stereophonic Recording' sticker on front cover. Red text on spine. A superb sounding copy of this early stereo gem! Some light hairlines to Side Two, but both sides play virtually faultlessly on my system, which consists of an Audio-Technica AT95E cartridge fitted to a Rega Planar 2, through a Pioneer A-400 amplifier and Tannoy speakers. A superb dynamic recording, and a wonderful performance!
