Cock Sparrer Shock Troops LP SCARCE ORIG UK 1983 Razor Records 1983 Pro Cleaned . On UK Razor Records black with pinky red logo and silver print labels RAZ 9 . Please see photos for the track listings .
COVER: Factory single non laminated card cover generally in between a very strong very good / near excellent condition and still nice and clean i actually think quite a bit better than very good overall , would be much closer to the near excellent side but for the odd crack line near to a couple of the corners , please see photos and the full descriptions below , thank you .
FRONT / CORNERS / EDGES: The front just has a very very few ( two or three ) mostly very small and extremely light marks barely visible and the odd often seen fine hairline , there are a couple of crack lines very close to the bottom right corner and a couple near the top right corner and the odd extremely small and light dent in places , there is just one other very very light crack line near the centre section , there is what appears to be an old partial sticker removal mark with no paper loss in the top right corner , there are just a very very few often seen but very small and very light crack lines in places on the edges , The usual but very light ring wear marks are present with just a very light impression of the outer edge of the record . Some normal useage / age related wear on the side opening edges but both are near enough straight , there is some very light feathering / fraying present on the very outer edges along with the odd tiny dent etc and some roughness on the very outer edges but i must say that none of this is heavy at all , there is some very small bits of rubbing / fraying and light denting etc on and just near to the corners , but most is pretty much on the tip ends with just a bit of rubbing spreading onto the top left corner and a tiny bit on the bottom right corner , there is some rubbing in places on the top and bottom edges but certainly nothing excessive , the spine is very good with just a bit of light denting mainly towards the top and some rubbing on the top part of the spine edge , there are also two or three tiny often seen crack lines , most of the tiny red text is legible with just the letter C missing in the word shock from a tiny bit of rubbing on one of the tiny crack lines .
REAR: Just has a very very few ( two or three ) extremely light and small marks in places , barely visible with the odd two or three very very light hairline / very thin soft line mark but it is still very nice and clean , there is a light crack line near the bottom right corner and a couple of the same crack lines , slightly more prominent near each of the top and bottom corners on the left hand side edge along with a bit of small denting , there are just three or four other usual but very very light and very small crack lines in places round the edges , there is just a very very light ring wear mark with just a very light impression of the outer edge of the record in places only , the cover is writing free and there are no seam splits . I think pretty much all can be seen in the photos using the zoom facility . All in all a good clean copy .
INNER SLEEVE: Off white solid ( not die cut ) paper sleeve with pale blue writing on the bottom on one side in a strong good / very good condition . There is some mostly light denting and some quite light creasing present with a light ring wear mark being slightly more prominent creasing towards the corners from the ring wear mark impression of the outer edge of the record , there is some age related foxing / fading present being darker on the upper and centre section on the printed side , the sleeve is writing free and there are no seam splits , i can't confirm if this is the original inner sleeve but it is Made In England and i think it is from around this same sort of time period and it was with it when i got the record . I will also be putting the record into a new plain white paper inner sleeve .
LABELS: Black with pinky red logo and silver print labels in near excellent condition , still nice and clean with just the odd very small paper crack line round the spindle hole and two or three very light handling marks , there are just a very very few usual but extremely light and small spindle marks , both labels are writing free .
** Please note that the greyish coloured marks and bright shiny patches that are sometimes seen on some of the close ups of the record playing surfaces in the photos are purely a light reflection / glare and are not marks on the record , thank you ** .
RECORD: The overall visual grade of the playing surface under normal average household light conditions is a very very very strong very good condition ( some may say better overall ) but i think it could be closer to a between a very very strong very good and near excellent condition and i think certainly a lot better than very good overall , there are just a very very few non feelable and mostly small and very very light surface marks , there are a few extremely light / faint certainly non feelable and non sounding manufacturing pale blemishes / shadows in places but as i say these really do appear to be within the vinyl itself and purely from the manufacturing process and are often seen on vinyl records and as i say none of these had any affect whatsoever on the sound or play quality and are purely cosmetic , i have tried to show the sort of thing that i mean in the last photo , there are just a very few other usual but extremely light and very very fine whispy type hairlines and sleeve removals , a couple being very slightly more visible but still very light and non feelable , there are no nasty gouges / nasty scratches whatsoever , i will also say that most of these few finer hairlines and actually some ( though there really aren't that many at all in the way of marks ) and actually some of the extremely light very pale manufacturers blemishes non feelable are really only more visible when held at certain angles to or under a light . Please note that there maybe the odd tiny dust particle or tiny bit of fluff etc seen on the record in places in the photos off my wiping cloth due to static etc , i can't see them on the record at the time but they sometimes do show up when I take the close up photos , this is also because i do take the photos before i vacuum clean the record , thank you for your understanding . Please see below for audio description .
AUDIO A SIDE: Silent run in has some usual but generally very light noise . It plays pretty much near excellent and i only say pretty much near excellent as i did hear three quite light ticks , these were one on the silent track changeover line from T1 to T2 and a couple on the very start of T2 ( the one being very light only ) , otherwise it really would have been easily excellent , bar this it really did play beautifully crisp and clear throughout on the music playback and there was really next to nothing in the way of obvious noise that was worthy of mention , i think i'm being very picky here ( considering it's age and popularity ) when i say that there may have just been the very very very occasional very faint pop in places and i'm only really saying this to cover myself if i missed any , but if there were , any really would have been barely heard , even the silent track changeover lines , bar that one tick were nice and quiet overall , there was no nasty crackle present and bar the mentioned , no other nasty ticks , as i say , there may just have been the very very very occasional ultra faint pop that i may have missed . Silent run off has some usual but generally quite light noise . This side on the music really does still play and sound fantastic overall and the audio tones are still awesome .
AUDIO B SIDE: Silent run in has some usual but generally very light noise . It plays superbly , again beautifully crisp and clear throughout on the music playback with really nothing in the way of obvious noise that was worthy of mention , even the silent track changeover lines were nice and quiet overall , there was no nasty crackle present and no nasty ticks , there may just have been the odd very faint isolated pop that i may have missed . Silent run off has some usual but generally light / very light noise . This side on the music really does still play and sound fantastic overall and the audio tones are still awesome .
** Overall a nice clean copy and bar those three light ticks as mentioned , a really great playing and sounding record ! ** .
There were no jumps etc when tested on my deck and it still retains a nice shine . Any noises tend to be in short bursts only , are over quickly , are not constant and do not spoil any enjoyment . If any noises are more frequent or louder etc , they will be described separately in the above detailed descriptions thank you .
All in all a nice example of this now very collectable and scarce item together with super overall sound , do turn this one up and enjoy ! . I have started this one off at what i think is a very keen £89.99p , the extra shown is what Ebay add on for their fees . Thank you very much for your time and interest and happy bidding . Please do read the following ref record gradings explained thank you .
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times , but displays no major deterioration in sound quality , despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch , some forms of noise will more than likely be heard in places especially on the quieter parts and some ticks or very light pops will more than likely be heard in places especially on the quieter parts , but none of this will overpower any of the music in any way , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail . Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
Very Good / Near Excellent: The record has obviously been played but shows no overly excessive play wear . There will be some light only surface marks though most will be just fine hairlines , there will be no major deterioration in sound quality at all though some amount of light noise / occasional light pop may be present in places especially on some of the quieter parts , but none of this will be loud or constant or overpower any of the music , the record will play through perfectly , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail . Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
Near Excellent: The record has obviously been played but shows only light signs of this , a few of the lightest non feelable surface marks being mostly very fine hairlines will be present , but it displays no deterioration in sound quality . Some brief bits of very light noise and very occasional usual light pop maybe present in places and would be acceptable on some quieter parts , but none of this will be loud or constant or overpower any of the music , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail . Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
Excellent : The record shows some signs of having been played , but there is very little lessening in sound quality , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail. Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .
