[DESCRIPTION]  For your consideration is a collection of Very Hard to Find LPs issued by the United States Federal Civil Defense Administration during the heart of the Cold War Era. The 49 LP Collection of Radio Shows were intended for broadcast only and not issued for sale or release to the general public. Stars for Defense offers a series of very rare vinyl LPs (albums) recorded for the United States Federal Civil Defense Administration during the Cold War era from 1956 to 1967. Radio stations were instructed to broadcast the content to help Americans prepare for possible disasters, like a nuclear attack. They contained both music and interviews. To further spread the message, radio Public Service announcements were created then released by radio stations to educate the public in case of nuclear attack. The transcribed radio program Stars for Defense combined hit music with civil defense advice. The total running time was approximately 15 minutes per side and only on a specific date was it to be played. M.C. Jay Jackson would introduce the week's musical guests (one week per side). Condition: The records are clean with light play wear. These albums were not provided sleeves other than generic white or vanilla government or radio station issued sleeves.

Please Note: Over the next few months I’ll be offering more than 1,500 Vintage ‘Armed Forces’ Transcriptions, Promotional Records, Rare Music compilations and Interviews, Vintage Advertising and just about anything related to Military/Government Programs (including NASA) and many others. 98% of the items being offered are promotional LPs provided to certain radio stations through various Government Programs. The music and interviews were made available only through broadcasting venues. Therefore, most album covers are generic white or manila color Government issued sleeves (with the exception of a few hundred which will be easily identified). The sleeves are typically in fair condition. I have eliminated any records with deep scratches or serious condition issues. The records have been well maintained though labels/stickers often do show some wear, fading, or writing from station managers. I am not an expert nor have I earned the credentials to grade a record however, I do have common sense and my feedback should reflect my integrity and sales history. I will remark and/or call to light any physical damage, warping, scratches or issues with the records as I see them. Sorry, No Returns. Check out my other items!

[SHIPPING] I am always happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases. I will ship within 48 hours of receiving payment. I prefer USPS Priority Shipping for items weighing less than 4lbs. Packages weighing more than 4lbs will typically be shipped via USPS Parcel Post or UPS Ground unless otherwise specified. Although I can’t be responsible for time in transit, I will track each and every package I ship. I will provide Insurance upon request.

[RETURNS] All Items are sold 'As Is'. In the unlikely event that an item was not described accurately or did not meet your expectations I will do my best to work out an acceptable resolution. Returns and costs associated with returns will be the responsibility of the returner, unless otherwise specified.
