Colosseum's Valentyne Suite was the first LP ever to be released on the Vertigo Label back in 1969.Although it is fairly easy to buy, a genuine first pressing is much harder to locate.
This UK LP I am selling is a first pressing and here is how you can tell the differences . Firstly the cover spine is twice the width of any normal LP. After the initial batch of sleeves were printed the next pressing reverted back to the standard spine width. The record itself must have the words A Philips Record Product at the bottom of the label on Side 2. Later pressings omitted these words.
The sleeve is in Near Excellent condition with minimal edge and cover wear. It has been well cared for. The record too has also been looked after, with few spindle marks and a great sheen on the vinyl.Visually Excellent with one small scuff.The record plays brilliantly on both sides and is still a fantastic listen 45 years later.It has very occasional minor static but in no way spoils the music. I would grade the vinyl as Excellent. The Vertigo inner is in Good Condition with a little writing on it and the poly liner is missing.
This really is a great LP which has been well cared for, and is the all important very first pressing.
